Community Through Hope has risen to the challenge of supporting the South Bay as its Regional Nutrition distributor. In partnership with Feeding San Diego and the San Diego Food Bank, CTH existing budget and resources have allowed it to provide nutritional support to an estimated 5,010 individuals per month. Based on current statistics of those served, CTH is serving at a rate of 25,000 individuals per month – an over 600% increase in services. CTH is also serving about 1000 seniors every month. At the same time, CTH faces a perfect storm of a smaller volunteer pool and reduced ability to generate funding through its thrift shop (which generated over $800 a month in profit). None of that covers how CTH has faced severe staffing impacts related to the COVID-19 risk and ripple effects through the economy. If it weren’t for community partners and the community donating to CTH operational costs this resource would not be possible. Please consider donating.
Monthly expenses include and or not limited to: operational costs ($7000), truck rental ($3600), storage rental ($475), additional nutrition ($3500), non perishable nutrition items to support the elederly, unsheltered and other agencies ($5000) as well as many other costs.
CTH is not a greedy agency but is certainly a needy one and appreciates every donation that comes in.
We hope that you might consider offering monthly support through your bank. As little as $20 a month can make a big impact on the lives of those who have so little. We thank you for your generosity.
